About Us
Situated midway between the milk producing areas of Staffordshire & Cheshire the market occupies a prominent position for supplying the needs of the area, together with the nearby conurbations of Stoke on Trent, Manchester, Sheffield and Derby. Good 'A' class roads link the premises with the M6, M1 and the A50 link road between Derby & Stoke.
TUESDAY is our regular market day selling all classes of Cattle and Sheep with a growing reputation for Dairy Cattle and finished Lambs. Once a month this includes the newly establised Pedigree Dairy sale. Alternate Saturdays provide sales of Poultry and Smallstock with Store Cattle throughout the grazing season and Autumn and Winter sales of Store Sheep. Special Breeding Sales of Sheep on Fridays in the Autumn period.
The market provides covered accommodation for Dairy Cattle, Calves, Sheep and Finished Cattle with additional penning giving a daily capacity to meet our current maximum throughput of 90 Dairy cattle, 550 Store Cattle, 4,500 Sheep, 150 calves and 150 Finished/Barren Cattle.
With the 6 day rule influencing where and when you market your stock it makes sense to take full advantage of a facility where the sale of calves and Finished Stock can be combined with the purchase of Dairy replacements and Store Cattle on the same day. For selling times please refer to his website and for marketing advice the names of the Auctioneers and thier sections are provided within.
There is always a welcome for you whether you are selling a champion beast or a banty with chicks, SO COME AND TRY US!
